This document provides the minutes from a planning meeting in November to discuss Annexation and rezoning (sound familiar??) for the Gas and Wash gas station planned for Rt 30 at the old Walona Motel. There are many of the same concerns posted by residents close to the station. There are not many homes there so the complaints were not as numerous as ours are going to be.
Please take some time to read through this so you can understand that for each concern brought, a representative from Gas & Wash provided a rebuttal. The Annexation and Rezoning was recommended to be approved despite the complaints.
We should anticipate the same approval in our proceedings and follow future updates to the Gas and Wash process. All decisions still have to go to the full board for actual approval. The planning committee provides a recommendation to the full board which could choose to ignore the planning committee recommendation. This could be due to additional data not available to the planning committee when they made their recommendation that becomes available to the full board.
This is why it is so critical that we retain professional counsel that are familiar with these types of situations and understand how to obtain the best outcome for all involved. Waving our arms and complaining can be ignored unfortunately.
